Hey guys,

Autumn is here and the lush greens of summer are now fading to the beautiful reds and oranges. Autumn is my favourite month and I can’t get enough of these colours so I thought I would try a look with them. I love the warm colours and they look beautiful no matter if your pale or tanned.

Queen Of The Ocean

Okay I know what your thinking…very strange title but believe it or not there’s a method to my madness, I started doing a look not entirely sure where its going but after I was done all I could was the colours reminded me of the Queen African Angelfish I saw in the local pet store. It was beautiful bright yellow and ocean blue. Of course I had more than two colours.

Purple Rain

My daughters in charge of this look again she told me “you have to do purple” and when asked why she just said because you do. Like any mother I’ve learnt not to argue with my 3 year old if I don’t have to because its not worth it so we have the Purple rain look…Nice and bright definetley not neutral in any way a perfect weekend brightener. I used a lot of different purples for this look and I love the result.

Water Lilies Dreams

I got a little bored of the neutral colours the last couple of days so I thought it was time for some colourto day considering it is Friday after all…. 3 colours to be exact, Pink, Blue and Purple.

This actually turned out really nice and brightened up the day considering it hasn’t stopped raining here yet. I called it water lilies dreams as it remined me of calude monets paintingwater lilies, if your a little confused then it was painted in 1907 and is currently on display in the Bridgestone Museum of Art in Tokyo.

These 3 colours blended together so well and the overall effect is beautiful.I used very little compared to normal so this should be super easy.

Shimmering Pink – Even Your Boss Will Think Your Awake

Anyone who’s full of cold (like me) or just not a morning person knows how hard it is to wake up in the morning, let alone look awake. This may just be me but I can look dead on my feet until at least midday especially if I have no time to put make-up on in the morning. So here’s a look I did on my daughters suggestion, she said I HAD to do pinks and I’ve learnt not to argue with her its so much easier in the long run.

With this look I went for Pinks/white and red (I couldn’t resist a flash of colour)

Elegant Wedding Look

A couple of weeks ago I went to a wedding, it was the full day so I wanted to look my best without been caked with make-up plus only having a small clutch bag mostly filled with stuff for my daughter I didn’t want to have to carry a great deal of things for touch ups. At most eyeliner/lipgloss and eyeshadow. I think one of the most important things is to look your best without upstaging the bride….its not your day so make sure you like nice don’t go overboard. I went for simple golds/silvers and white, this was for two reasons. It matched my jewellery and didn’t clash with anything I was wearing. You can wear any colour you want just remember in a wedding less is more.

And there you have it, low key enough not to out do the bride and plenty enough to give you the hint of colour and sparkle you need to shimmer the night away.

Daytime Reds

Now I know there are many of you looking at this title and probably wondering “is she serious?” well yes I am, I’ve heard so many people complaining that they are sick of wearing netural tones to the office. In surveys I’ve looked at most people wear browns/beiges and pinks to the office as they think any other is too bold. I think the trick is taming the colour down to make it work. After all its not a disco…it is the office. But colour is possible you don’t have to wash yourself out.

After my usual pre make-up routine this is what I used:

Face:

Urban Decay Complexion Primer Potion (This is quite a think cream so make sure you rub it in well or you’ll have blotchy foundation)

Benefit eyecon

Benefit Erase Paste No.1 Fair
Revlon Beyond Natural 210 Light/Pale
Benefit Powderflage (Use after doing eye make-up)

Eyes:

Urban Decay Primer potion
Mac Paint Pot : Soft Ochre (A little goes a long way)
Mac Fashion Patch Mineralize eyeshadow white (the inner corner of your eye too open up your eyes)
Illamasqua powder eyeshadow : Demonic (Rest of the eyelid)
Mac eyeshadow : Soba (In the crease)
Barry M Dazzle Dust : Cherry Red (Overlay a little of Demonic)
Illamasqua powder eyeshadow : Lestat (My favourite black as you can build it up in layers, put a little over the red until the red is subtle, you can use a grey if you prefer)
No eyeliner : Unless you want dark eyes
Mac Macara x in Black x2 coats

Lips:

Urban Decay Lipstick : Naked
Any subtle peach / nude lipgloss to add some sparkle

You can make this look as subtle or as vibrant as you want, add some red lips for night or wash out the red with some white/cream to make a different look.
